A big crowd turned out at 3S Artspace in Portsmouth Thursday for the screening of “The Power of Place,” an examination of the devastating impact the Northern Pass project would have on the state. Producer/Director Jerry Monkman later answered questions about the film and Northern Pass, joined by Jack Savage from the Society for the Preservation of New Hampshire Forests and Susan Arnold from the Appalachian Mountain Club.
The film features breathtaking views of the natural beauty of the North Country, reflecting Jerry’s background as a photographer and his longtime love of New Hampshire. Incorporating these scenes with interviews with property owners and others who would be adversely affected by Northern Pass, “The Power of Place” is a critical look at the devastation that will be caused by the transmission line.
Hopefully you will get a chance to see “The Power of Place” at a future screening in your area. For more information or to purchase a copy, visit Jerry’s website.
